Simplify Meal Planning: Offer 3 food groups for meals and 2 food groups for snacks

Use this sample meal plan to see how you can combine food groups for healthy meals and snacks. First, note the 3 easy steps to follow to vary good groups. Then see how the meal plan uses these steps to include a rainbow of fruits and vegetables, a variety of whole grains, dairy and protein foods (plant-based, animal, and seafood).

Meal planning does not have to be hard. It can be a simple 3-step approach.

Vary Your Food Groups 1 Include a vegetable or fruit at each snack or meal. 2 Include foods from at least 3 food groups for each meal. 3 Include foods from at least 2 food groups for each snack.
